Decision of the Shaft Center Line position in Twin Screwed Boats

The Shaft Center line position on the plan view of the ship should be the breadth of full load water plane divided by 4. Is it true ?

I belived that this may be varied according to the type of the hull forms.

Any rule of thumb or specific formulas ?

Thanks

Donald
