From the internet archives:

2000:
http://web.archive.org/web/200003061...m/products.htm
http://web.archive.org/web/200001100...com/prod01.htm

2005 (last year the site was active):

Check out the link in that last URL to the article on the Redfish Tour winner. Only two boats made it across the shallow bars to the sweet spot in Mosquito Lagoon, both Day-5's. One of them was owned by Capt. Karty Sills, who has an apparently active website so there may be a possibility of arranging a personal inspection of a Day-5:

Another fishing guide with a Day-5 apparently located at Mosquito Lagoon:

Looks like a typical Texas flats boat.

Florida-style flats boats tend to make better poling skiffs and may ride a little better. However, if you are looking to run in really shallow water, the Texas boats seem to have a significant edge on the Florida boats when it comes to running skinny.

Day5 specs

Draft 7" drifting.
Running draft with transom jack in up position >4". That's LESS than four inches.

Your symbol reads "greater than" 4", as opposed to your text. ???

A lot of good flats boats can run in less than 4 inches of water. Some of the better ones can run in less than two inches of water (that's with a four-blade prop, not a jet).

Poling

I agree. I run a Ranger Banshee extreme. She runs shallow, poles shallow and is perfect to sight fish from. Just curious on how the boat was to pole the flats all day, without trolling at all.
