Corrugated Bhds. Question
If you have a long'l. corrugated bhd. that extends from deck to bottom (with vertical corrugations), can the bhd. be considered effective for hull girder strength purposes? It seems that the bhd. would act sort of like an accordian when the hull flexes in a seaway, but it is welded double continuous at the ends, so it would also seem to be a fairly rigid structure as well. I know that ABS does not consider these to be effective bhds. for hull girder strength purposes. What is your opinion on this matter? Thanks.
