The Wagner auto pilot cct. board in a fishing boat I had a while back was in fact a box which you could open with a perimeter seal built into the lid and snap latches. I had it for ten years and it was used when I got it. solid as a rock. However this was not as delicate a piece of equipment as a disc drive which will cause problems in a humid environment. The mention of leaving the power on to keep it warm and dry is in fact a very good idea. I presently use a laptop in my boat but I have heating in the boat and it stays dry. We spend our time in a very wet area back home. West coast of Canada. My first Mate likes it toasty in the boat and I do take the laptop home when we leave the vessel.
