Composite hull manufacture

Hi All

Happy to see its as busy as ever in here !

Maybe someone can help with this, I am after any recommendations for the following to build a production run of 13m yacht hulls/decks ?

Epoxy Sandwich construction
Access to a CNC milling machine to make hard foam moulds quickly
Low cost environment (location otherwise unimportant)
Available capacity now.
Track record

Hulls, decks, bulkheads, structural tray - other level of finish open to discussion - shipped to Europe.

Other ideas as well as dK Yachts ?

Thanks!

my suggestion if you want to manufacture boats commercially, is to check around and buy a set of molds from one of the many previous builders who have gone out of business, and then modify the deck molds to make them more current. you can pick up those sets of molds for a song. i would guess you could buy $100k worth of tooling for less than $5k. in fact, i'll bet some will give the molds to you if you carry them away.

Hey Anarchist, how does it feel to be here? But you are right. Plenty of interestuing moulds for sale as long as your commercial program fits.

one of the best thing that can happen to you before you go in the fiberglass boat building business is to hire a huge svedish guy and have him kick you in the behind untill you quit before you start. you'd make a lot more money buyng boats, cleaning them up, and then reselling them. be sure the current owner allows you to sell it before you buy it. take an option before you start. harold oneuglyboat.com
