Circulating Water Channel

Hi,

doing a project at university on the feasibility of a CWC. I'm going to try and use the typical Froude number of ships to try and determine how large the working section needs to be and thus the overall size of the CWC. Can anyone give me some typical Froude Number of ships ranging? Typical speeds of boats (i'm guessing around 20 knots) for most commercial boats/ships? Anyone know much about circulating water channels, particularly the Upstream tank versions not so much the continuous circuit types.

cheers
