Catamaran Tender for Catamaran

I am checking out the possibility of building a catamaran tender
similar to a SeaCycle. I got the idea from

www.katiekat.net

I would only go to the trouble of making rather than buying it if I could make it significantly lighter than the
standard SeaCycle (@160#). See:

www.seacycle.biz

As long as the drive units can be bought separately, I have a choice of drives -
the SeaCycle Propeller Drive Unit (see above) or a Mirage Drive from
Hobie Cat:

www.hobiecat.com/kayaking/miragedrive.html

What is your opinions as to which would be the more efficient and presumably
faster?

I had the same idea (using my folding multihull patent), but when I approached Hobie they said No way!

Can't afford to design and build my own drive unit at the moment.

Brian,

Check my website http://www.wavewalk.com
Especially the videos page http://www.wavewalk.com/DEMO%20VIDEOS.html
and the gallery of alternative W designs: http://www.wavewalk.com/BOAT%20DESIGN%20GALLERY.html

Also, there's Roger Gilmore's interesting HPV site: http://webpages.charter.net/rcgilmor...htm#WaterSites

At least one person has been able to arrange the supply of a mirage drive:

I've had a couple customers install a drive in their boats.
