| catamaran rowboat with sliding seat Hallo! I would like to build a rowboat out of 2 11 cm diameter pbc tube. So i need an advice for placing a sliding seat, foodrest, and ore holders. My biggest question is how long there shall be between the ore holders, i am 195cm, and want something wide with long oars, for maximum power. Thanks in adwance sander |

| Ok i have done a lot of reserch, and found out that 162 cm between the oar locks works great with 288 cm hatchet-shaped oars, with 89 cm inboard. I might use aprox 20 cm diameter pvc tube instead, depends on the length. Is it right understood that 1 liter of air per kg would keep me floating? Lets say that the overall weight of the boat including me is 120 kg how many extra cm3 would i then prefer? I think 162 cm between the pontoons would be nice, that way i can put the oar locks rigth on top of the pontoons, but how long should it then be? How high above the waterline should i sit? |
