Can Someone Idenitfy This Boat Please

Thanks for your time and review. This boat came with the building I purchased. I know nothing about boats. I'm really trying to gather as much information about the it in order to sale it on the internet. I was hoping someone could tell me the type & kind of boat I have and perhaps the kind of wood used. All I know of the history is that it was handmade in southeast ky in the middle 1940's. Though it was handmade, I would assume a plan or drawing was followed. The rough dimensions are 14’ 5” in Length, 4’ 7” in width & 29” in depth. Thanks again for any information you can provide.

I applogize if I posted this in the wrong place or website. I just thought that this would be the idea place to find out what type or kind (technically) my boat is. I mean its a Boat Design place. And I thought whomever made this boat had to start with a someones own design.

If I'm in the wrong place, or no one can help me, can someone direct me to a website or form that could help?

Welcome. I think one reason you didn't get much response was the unfortunate dropping of the t in your title. "Boa" might have put some people off. Anyway, you seem to have a boat in very fine condition. It looks like it was kept dry for many years, which may have prevented rot.

Try looking up state registration records. They might mention a brand or manufacturer. Another thing: this is only an impression, but there seems to be a lot inside that hull for only a 14' boat. Boats are measured by outside dimensions, so it might be a little larger than you stated.

Samsam gave you some good sites. Here are some more. If you spend time reading and following the links to other sites you may find some folks who can help you with identification. Google wood, wooden, or classic runabouts or boats for more info. Even without knowing the mfr, there will be buyers interested in an old wood runabout in good condition. Good luck!

Thanks for replies. I didn't notice my mis-spelling till After my post. I tried my best to go back and fix it, but was unable to.

The boat was measured from the outside, end to end.

I've searched the google images for days using all sorts of words and this little boat seems very alusive. So, far though the closest I came is to a Reinell.

But after doing research on the manufacture, wouldn't you know that no documentation is available after 54 years of boat making and an appearent good reputation. When the company was sold, all records were distroyed.

I'll keep looking.

This might help more than any other site. Someone is building fiberglass boats under the Reinell name, claiming a heritage going back more than 78 years. Has to be the same name; possibly they have old records. It's worth a try to contact them. http://www.reinell.com

I contacted our State titling department for boats and they said that the number on the boat does not exist in their system. They don't know if if ever really did.

So, back to square 1.
