This was a rather strange catamaran I ran across a few years ago near Annapolis MD.

But it actually had a number of clever ideas. I took a bunch of photos that I should probably post on the forum in another subject thread.

Here's the strangest one I've seen myself, in person.

This boat planed right up and shot past me at 20+ knots. It has twin 200hp outboards and if FLIES! It's nuts!!

ENJOY!

Hopefully, those image links from my forum worked. If not... here is a hyperlink:

http://cruising.stuffiminto.com/mono...-30-knots.html

If you look *very* closely, you can see some teak grab rails on the hood for when you need to go forward!!

This little wonder is parked down the street from my house.

I wonder what sort of interesting tidbits a stability calculation would reveal about this boat?

This is probably old news, as the video is from 2007, but I just bumped into for the first time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSTbO...eature=related

It might be me, but this boat looks positively normal - maybe you need to explain it to a simple mind

Do you see a reason for that halfway keel and almost midship rudder? If so please explain the benefits

Cheers,
Angel

Oh sure, there are lots of 'bad design' hulls around - I thought the thread was for 'weird'.

'bad design' covers just about every thread in the whole forum

My guess would be this boat was initially shorter, end stern later extended. A deckhouse cabin built over original cockpit. Mowing a rudder considered unnecessary.

Seems to have ‘‘a lot ’’ of leeward resistance for the force on the mizzen.. how would weather helm be . .

Cheers,
Angel

PS

Watson, this weird thread is on the Boat Design part of the forum, so lets talk some weird design too (or tolerate it)
