camaro/corvette lt1 with mercruiser alpha 1

Hey fellas whats up. New to the website here but I have been reading over the forums for a little while now. I have got alot of good information off of here and with the little amount of info off the web involving boats this has been a huge help. Well, if you guys could I have a question. I am putting a 94camaro lt1 into a 1991 16' mach 1, spitfire. Just wondering if anybody has ever done this transplant before. One thing I am confused about is what flywheel to run. All the flywheels for that year of lt1 are 153 tooth and the flywheel I ordered for a 1 peice rear main seal motor is 168 tooth. Is there something I am missing or did I order the wrong flywheel. Could I use the stock flexplate from the lt1? If you guys could help that would be huge. Thanks, James.

That sounds right. Be sure your starter has the same. Should be ok.

Thanks for the reply fellas I appreciatte it. Well, the starters are different for sure. The older chevy starters are offset mounted while the lt1 starters are mounted straight acrossed if that makes sence. I went to cz28.com but did not see what you were talking about. Did you guys discuss your setup on there? If so I want to check that out. Does anybody know someone I could call and ask? I am finding nothing on the internet at all. I agree with you that this engine will be awesome in this boat if I could just figure out what flywheel to use. I am about to just drop back and punt and put a regular old 350 in it if I can figure this out soon. Anyways, thanks again fellas, james.
