| Welly, they most likely don’t speak English too good! They most likely meant to say “don’t hesitate to contact us”. Give the people a break; after all, they are just like you and me. Sean, Just out of curiosity, why limit the size of the boat to 25 feet? Cost of construction? Trailering ability? Ease of beaching? Fuel consumption? I too am in the process of designing a long range trailer sailboat with high speeds under power that is beach-able and has large fuel capacity. I like your design but then I also like a more tradition hull form. There are many good designs out there but I’ve not found any that contain all of my requirements. The Mac 26x is just a joke to me. The premise is good but the design lacks in my opinion. I was thinking lately about a catamaran that could retract the pontoons into a trailer-able width, but I feel that the structural components for the mechanism that will support the main cabin and also retract the pontoons would be too problematic. I thought maybe a tri but then you lose the volume inside the main cabin and then you might as well go back to a healing mono hull. Jed. |
