Can someone calculate (or show me how to calculate) the displacement for a simple flat bottom plumb sided boat design for me? The area (according to Google Sketchup) is 81.2 SF. I'd like to know the PPI so that I can calculate the load capacity at various waterlines. If more information is needed, please let me know.

well obviously the deeper it is in the water the more displacement it has. So what draft is your boat

It only exists on paper at the moment. I stretched the 18' Phil Bolger designed "Work Skiff" to 20' and am trying to determine what it will draft at various loads. Work Skiff drafts 3" at 1100lbs, so that would be about 366 PPI from what I gather since (I think) PPI should stay constant due to the plumb, rather than flared sides. Just trying to figure out how much adding 10 SF to the hull increases load carrying ability.

It will increase the load carrying capacity by 62.6 lbs in fresh water and 64 lbs in salt water per cubic feet of hull.
