buoyancy assesment

Hi,

I am currently designing a 8.9m racer cruiser. We had the intention to make it unsinkable. Therefore we wanted to had buoyancy foam. I have just readen in couple of forums that the buoyancy assesment could be done anymore since the new ISO 12217 appears. In fact this rule should say that no boat built after 1995 (i think) could be considered as unsinkable.
Then should i keep my buoyancy foam??? rating gain...?

Does anyone know about it, and could give a proof of it, and/or explanation.

Thank you

I'm afraid it is not like that at all. The Stability Index (STIX) at ISO 12217-2 bonifies unsinkable boats with a full five enters figure ('delta' addendum).
Have a look at the STIX thread in these forums.
Cheers.
