The cost of a good set of plans is 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of a jib, and good plans are cheaper to build to than cheap plans. The only "radius chine" boats I know are from Dudley Dix (http://www.dixdesign.com/). If you want the other things (low budget, plywood, fast cruising, trailerable), I would suggest Jacques Mertens Vagabond 23 (http://www.boatplans-online.com/prod....php?prod=VG23). Jacques would call it a "plywood core, fiberglass boat" because the glass sheathing (inside and out) is a critical part of the construction. There are cost estimates on the study plan portion of the website.

Thanx ...

i know the dixdesign boats ... they're great, and i thought about it allready. but the mini didi is more a racing boat then a cuising boat and she has a fix keel. i need a boat with drop keel. and the didi26 is just a bit too big for my first building project...

What do you think of this natali600 ?

Why radius chine?

Is radius chine important to you? and why?

You'll find that there are more multi-chine and hard chine plans out there than radius chine ones. They're typically easier to build, especially as a first project. And the primary advantage of radius chine is aesthetic.

Bruce Roberts's Spray 22 is a good-sailing boat, easy enough for an initial project, and a thoroughly proven design. (Just one of many possibilities.)

Luck.

why radius chine? because of the design and the resale value.. i wanna build a modern fast cruising boat .. and i dont think it is much more difficult to build, think it just needs a bit more time....
