Boat angle or trim of hull

    A ship has a base line at her keel. The base line is parallel to the designed water line. The draft aft is measured at the rudder shaft (aft perpendicular, waterline to base line), the draft forward is measured at the forward perpendicular (touching the point between bulb and bow), waterline to baseline. The distance from fwd perpendicular to aft perpendicular is Lpp (smaller than LOA). Trim = T(fwd) - T(aft).
