Best sources for tracking new developments over the last 10-15 years?

I am working on a project and need to track design/technology changes that have arisen AND reached some level of acceptance over the last 10-15 years - can anyone throw out some ideas, places to search or people to talk with?

This may include keel or hull designs, advances in autopilot controls, etc.

The Maltese Falcon is filled with new tech, but I am not sure if mast deflection sensors and fiber optic sail sensors have been used anywhere else.

Thanks

Mike
