If it is upside down it is more visible with the brightly colored centerboards and rudders.

After watching RC models race around in different settings I am starting to believe that black is an excellent color for visibility on water. The black boats always stand out. Maybe that's why most of the America's Cup World Series boats are black? These boats are supposed to be flashy and most of them are black. Why? Black is really easy to see and looks great too.

That's carbon fiber allowed to show through for a status/cool effect.

next time you watch, look at the difference between China's boat which is white, vs the other boats.
