| Bamboo decks on a workboat? I am working out a small workboat/island trader design, and a friend mentioned that in seatrains they use bamboo decking for the floors- they are hardy and cheap. I have seen a few articles where bamboo is gaining popularity in kayak builds, but wanted to see if anyone had had any experience with this. Otherwise, I will probably marine ply/canvas the deck except for the hatch. |

| Thanks for the reference. The boat is a 26' motorsailer/island trader with a main hatch. The idea was that the bamboo could take the damage bumps, scrapes, falling objects, etc, and be ripped up and replaced every season. |
