Atkins Hardtack using an outboard

http://www.atkinboatplans.com/Utilities/Hardtack.html

I want to use a small outboard on this boat and put it in a well so the propeller is in the same spot as the inboard propeller in the design. I just want a displacement speed boat so I was thinking a 9.9 would be fine. I thought about putting it off the back, but was not sure how it would affect the boat moving through the water.

Thanks for the input

Why not. Might have to add some weight forward...fuel o batteries ...to get the boat on he lines.

Steering arrangement might take some thought.

If you google around there are a few designs around that have already adapted that hull form with a motor in a well.
