| Atkins Hardtack using an outboard http://www.atkinboatplans.com/Utilities/Hardtack.html I want to use a small outboard on this boat and put it in a well so the propeller is in the same spot as the inboard propeller in the design. I just want a displacement speed boat so I was thinking a 9.9 would be fine. I thought about putting it off the back, but was not sure how it would affect the boat moving through the water. Thanks for the input |

| Why not. Might have to add some weight forward...fuel o batteries ...to get the boat on he lines. Steering arrangement might take some thought. If you google around there are a few designs around that have already adapted that hull form with a motor in a well. |
