Hello - hope someone can assist me with a tough one.

I am converting a Harley 42 (18,000 pounds), 10'6" beam, deep vee (hull looks like an 10% oversized cigarrette boat) from it's original ferrari gas engines to crusader 425 EFI's. The boat has arneson surface drives and props which when coupled with the 500 hp ferraris gave it 60 mph. I'm not a speed junkie and cant affort one ferrari let alone two (or their reliability issues).....here is the issue:

What prop sizes and transmission ratios should be used to compliment the crusader powerband?

Who can help? Trial and error is VERY expensive with surface drive props.

Thanks for any help or leads!!!!!

Sorry - surface-piercing props are outside my experience. Hopefully someone better versed than I will come along shortly.
