| Any books talk about RIVA Aquarama? I tried to read more about RIVA runabout. So far I have not seen a single book here (U.S) talk about it. I'm just wondering if any of you know such book(s) ever existed. I have read about 10 books about American runabout / wooden powerboat. They are mostly talk about Chris Craft, Gar wood ... But I am very interested in reading more about RIVA's Aquarama Euro-style design, as well as how the company started as a funiture workshop. |

| You also might want to check and ask one of the many RIVA sites: http://www.rivahistorical.org, http://www.riva-world.com, or http://www.rivaclubusa.com |

| Thanks alot. Based on the leads your guys provided, I found a couple of book either in Europo or in the states. The price of book 'Carlo the Legend, Riva the Myth' by Piero Gibellini is $299. Wow! It seems to me anything has something to do with RIVA is very very expensive. On the website recommended by SailDesign, a restored 1970 26' RIVA is asking $325,000. I am sure if I ask SailDesign to custom design a similar boat, then have someone build for me, the cost will not exceed the half of that one! |

![]() Seriously, though, when you consider the quality built into those things, and the cost of restoration, and the fact that the brushes used to achieve that superb varnish job (all hand-brushed, no spray) were silk, custom-made for Riva, then the price doesn't seem so bad. But you do have to REALLY want one. Steve |
