Angle of waves coming off the hull

Just a quick question.

Anyone know, or know where I can find out the angle that waves (bow, stern, etc) come off the hull? I know it's supposed to be a constant - like 23 or 37 degrees or something but I haven't been able to find a thing.

The angle depends on the water depth and the speed. The "Kelvin angle" in deep water and assuming low speeds (i.e. assuming the depth-based Froude number small) is about 19.3 degrees. That is the angle between the hull centreline and the outer part of the V-shaped wake.

Take a look at www.cyberiad.net/wakefd.htm to see how the angle depends on speed and water depth.
