aluminium structural standard

I need some standard for aluminium now to built small ali. boat. So if you have, pls updated on give me.

Hi.

Easy to find. Do a googling "marine aluminum or aluminium alloy" and you will find a lot. Better: Classifications Societies have given such standards and you can search their web pages. Usually it is used mostly Aluminum Series 5 (as 5083) and less series 6. It is also said that it is better to use a strong alloy for the underwater part and another for the out of water parts of the vessel. Typically, thickness is: 6mm under water and 4mm above.
However for small vessels Aluminum may result in a heavy boat, as Alu specific weight is around 2.6 Metric Tonnes/cub Meter.

You don't say how large a craft you want to build. Larger boats are covered by class rules as APP said above. You'll find links to some of those here:

Hi,

Another issue that you should check is aluminium alloy welding. In the professional world alu welders are certified and have approvals by classification societies. In any case make a googling and there is a lot on how to and what you should look when you weld alu alloy. If you are not careful you might not be able to hoin well the plates for example.
