air conditioned cockpit on flats or bay boat

I am a boat designer and recently a famous fisherman has requested a canopy enclosure that he and his wife can sit down in. A low profile cockpit like an ocean racer. I asked do you want it air conditioned and he immediately said yes. My boats are produced as one offs with two different hulls. They range from $62,000 to $75,000 and up. We are like Jessie James motorcycles or Orange County Choppers. These boats are very customized and more like functional hotrods.

I think the post is more of a self acknowledgement about his company.

A/C on a boat now there's something that hasn't been thought of. Two of my last three designs had A/C. One was a typical compressor driven unit, the other was a pump up, raw water device, which was pretty neat, with very low energy draw. This is Florida, we don't do 'nutten without A/C down here. In that price range, they must be reasonably small, one off "hot rods" with A/C. Hell, you'd be hard pressed to get a plain Jane hardtail from West Coast Choppers for those dollars.

On a flats boat? Sounds like a sun shade, or more likley a wide brimmed hat and a saltwater spritz now and then.

Air Conditioning

On a flats boat?

Yep - I got that! Ya see - thats what the holes in my shorts and jocks are for, - to let the air condition my ring gear!

Works a treat at speed!

Yup yup yup, bin dere, done dat!

Designer holes in his shorts maybe? Could that be the sorta air conditioning he designs?

I'm not sure I wanna know where this is going!

Cheers!

If they truly were one-offs, he wouldn't have just two molds. Each boat would be different. The engine, steering and other parts of the mechanical system add up to about $25.000 plus installation. Then the electronics about $5,000.00 and fishing gear maybe $4,000.00. I can see an adequate boat built for the price Tarpon1 claims, but not a hotrod or customized boat to the standards of Jessie James motorcycles or Orange County Choppers.

The only flats boats that i know of for 70,000 dollars are the Hells Bay boats and I would not give you 10 cents for one of those. If you run A/C and have a canopy how the hell are you going to cast your lure? the lure would attach itself to the canopy in the back swing

He seems to have been an unregistered poster, Joel. He didn't leave any way to get in touch with him or his boats. Not a very effective marketing ploy, if that was his intent.
