    Greetings:

T27 beam 8'-7", jubilee beam 8'-4", very similar. Never talked about beam at waterline or said they had similar shape.

Dont care to troll. Questions where asked about certain ideas and would like to know if they will work.

Found a dutch designed boat called a "schonker" in the traditional vs. modern tread. It has good ideas for affordability like the cut trees for masts. Very simple flat bottom design built right on the floor, easy to do since there is no rocker in the bottom. They said it was a cargo boat, but being just 30' on deck with three crewmen, that really isnt feasable. Dont like the 12 ton displacement at about 27' WL.

Congratulations! Keep the info here and don´t spread it over the Forum in threads related to completely different topics, as you did.

This thread is like a horrible car crash. You know you shouldn't look, but tragedy always attracts attention.

    Greetings,

The schonker is called "Pierius Magnus" a big dory. Crossed the Atlantic and built using homedepot lumber. Quick, inexpensive, and seaworthy; you guys might be able to learn something from them.

during ww2 a seaman spent 180 or so days on a life raft , a record, that doesn't make life rafts something you'd want to go to sea on

You guys gotta quit distoring everything. Never talked about cruising in an innertube. Brought up ideas, and experiences others have had in affordable boats. Seems like guys in "Pierius Magnus" had good adventures in a safe manner. It could be done with jubilee. Questions were asked about sailplan, propulsion, ballast, etc., if you can help with that, it would be appreciated, dont need the other silly remarks.

And you might learn something from them too! What you are really looking at seems to blow right over your head though.

    Pierre,

Did learn something from Pierius Magnus, if there is something more that can be gleaned, let me know. What is it thats blowing over me? Explain with details what you see that I am missing. Simple, off the cuff remarks dont help.

    Apex,

Gave requirements in previous posts, maybe not the way youre used to, but should be understandable.

    Some easy ones.

    1. As minimal draft possible (mentioned cruising areas).
    2. 6 Crew for upto two weeks.
    3. Minimize marina's.
    4. Ocean capable, seaworthy, and seakindly.
    5. Simple build at around $12,000.00.
    6. Sail power with engine assistance for close quarters.
    7. 4 Crew for indefinite voyaging.

If you cant understand this let me know, will break it down further, if theres other details needed just ask.

You are the one who does not understand.

    just one example:

    1. As minimal draft possible (mentioned cruising areas).
    2. 6 Crew for upto two weeks.
    3. Minimize marina's.
    4. Ocean capable, seaworthy, and seakindly.
    5. Simple build at around $12,000.00.
    6. Sail power with engine assistance for close quarters.
    7. 4 Crew for indefinite voyaging.

means you either are completely nuts, or completely ignorant. Ten times the cost will probably hardly buy that.

Go to the thread I linked to. Have a nice read and redefine your SOR. Than come back with sensible questions.
