advice required for mechanized sailing vessels

I am owner of mechanized sailing cargo vessels with cargo capacities ranging from 300 metric tonnes to 1000 metric tonnes.

I would like to know how much powe (bhp) is required to attain speeds of 12 - 15 knots. The size specifications of the 1000 metric tonne cargo carrying capacity vessels are : water line length is 40 meteres and the beam is 11.89 meters while the depth from the deck is 5.79 meters.

would like to know what gear ratio and propellor pitch and blades are required to run this vessel at above speeds in fair and rough weather and which would be the highest fuel efficient engine for this purpouse

Princesindbad,

You should hire a naval architect to develop the specifications for you. Your ships are relatively large compared to what most people talk about on this forum, and whatever solution you come up with is going to be expensive because of the size of the equipment. Therefore, you want the calculations done correctly and documented properly. The engine and propeller manufacturers are going to want to see such calculations anyway in order to help you specify precisely which engine and its associated equipment you should have.
