advice on replacing teleflex steering

Hi I am looking to replace my current helm and steering cable as it keep slipping, I have replaced the bit in the helm but doesnt last long, the reason for this is that the steering is really heavy it is just the way it been designed. i have 100hp inboard in a 21ft boat.
Now i know ideally i should go for hydraulic but i dont want to be spending that much when i only keeping boat for another year or two. But i do want to get something that will last.
Any recomendations on any teleflex helms and cables. Heavy duty ones.
I have been looking at a t71fc with a m66 cable and the Teleflex Big-T Helm do know which one is better any thoughts or advice

First question should be: what makes your steering so heavy?

the shaft that the rudder is connected to goes into skeg at the bottom. i think as it goes into the skeg there is friction there. without major sergery to the rudder there is not alot i can do. its not major when i say really heavy its not like some boats i have driven. i just think the set up i got is just not man enough.

when i get the boat on the scrubbing pad i can make adjustments to make the steering better and a little litter, but i still need to replace my set up as its now given up. so i was trying to find out which helm is the more hardwearing and heavy duty as there is not much in the price

Is the rudder balanced or can you modify it to make it balanced?

I recently had a new cable and outer made for me in Taiwan for my 3m jetski ..could not get a short one in australia ...I fitted it to my existing head unit BUT it was not like the old ones it had a PTFE lining and was super low friction ...look on www.ebay.com.au or if you are really keen I can maybe find the name of the make in my paypal records ...

just found it dr.djmortormart ( dont think he can spell motor ) if you put item 170345590806 in the e bay search you will get the right guy .....he seems to measure from the Nut to the end of the cable ..very confusing so send him a diagram and get a quote ...look at the friction figures ...fitted perfect
