| Advice Needed Welcome comments on converting a 23' SeaCraft inboard power boat hull to outboard power. (See attachments). Can the outboard motor run in thr rather large pocket left by the inboard design? If so, should the engine be mounted close to the cut-out or out on a bracket? The desired purpose is to acheive a craft that can handle the open waters of the Chesapeake Bay. but capable of idling into shallow tidal coves and creeks. I would like to be able to trim up the engine an let her rest on the bottom occasionally. I am sure there would be some trade offs, but is it possible? Thanks, <KSC> |

| Taking out the inboard and installing the outboard will change the center of gravity aft by a lot. The boat will probably porpoise. With the prop in a tunnel, how much can you gain with an outboard?
