Adding a Transom Door

I have a 1979 36 Trojan SF. I must install a transom door. I have read much about not doing so as it will violate the structure. However, all is possible.... Has anyone done this? Does anyone know what should reasonably be done to to reinforce the modification. The door will be offset from center and run from deck up.

I would like to here how to do it, not just why not to do it if possible.

Thanks!
