adding a 40 gal tank for gasoline

I have a 25 feet boat, and I find that it construction is based on ribs each at about 36 inches .

I purchased a TODD plastic fuel tank * v bottom belly type that is 52 inches long, x 26 inch wide, and 10 inch hight, which I plan to install about in the middle toward the rear of boat

My question is :

Can I cut one rib to tank shape to fit it, as distance from existing ribs are 36 inches.
Each rib is wood solid that has about t 12 inch high at V center, and are about 1 inch thick.

Is there any dange about weekening the structure and put in dange the boat???

Can someone advise me for a proper methodology to solve this problem.

please email to: apinzon@vibran.com.co

It would be necessary to see the boat or the blueprints to answer you question. I assume that you have insuficient headroom to install the tank. Frames 36" on center and 12" deep sound odd. What is the material and dimensions of the hull?

I have made a posible design, inwhich I decide to add a new flow (in blue color, and placing the new tank (gray color) below driver seat and driving console as in picture
yellow is piping for control and hydraulic steering.

I will move an existing 15 galon tank (red), and place it yust below the wind shield plane, cutting floor to size of tank, in this way I don't harm any structural beam.

In this way I think, now I have a better stability of weight , as boat is today, is light, and in rough waters it jumps quite hard.

boat is in Fiberglass, local design.

I was initiaslly planning to place tank, yust in front of driving console under the floor, but I send you my new design, as I think placing it below the floor is risky, as a main rib must be cut, do you see any problem with my new design, as in drawing.
Dimensions are very close.
