added construction

hi,
I wuld like to ask..
the possibility of the decrease/reduce the resistance of ship, if we are trying to added construkction on the surfce of afterpeack section.
the add construction is like the bilge strake. vertical of the surface on afterpeack section..
will these consntruction give positif influence for reduce the resistance of ship.??
and will these construction give the increase of speed as the effect that the add construction??
