Add ballast to trim heel

I have recently added batteries to sailboat and induced a heel to the aft port quarter. I can add lead shot forward and starboard to level it out. My question is am i better off with approximately 125# approx 18 inches above waterline and 4 feet from centerline (in a locker behind the back of a settee berth) or approx 200# at the waterline and 2 feet from centerline (in a locker under the seat of the same settee berth). Both solutions are equally forward in the boat (approximately 7 feet forward of mast - cutter rig) and trim the boat correctly.

I am inclined for less weight but further up and out (it is a heavy boat, full keel 36' with 11' beam)
