| ABS aproval costs Does anyone know how much ABS charge for approval a full set of plans for a 40ft steel motoryacht? Thanks!  |

| Call the American Bureau of Shipping in New Orleans at (504) 731-2960, and they can fill you in on the process. ABS is a private corporation, so you have to pay for their plan approval service. You can also have the boat surveyed during construction, and this costs extra for the services of the surveyor. Eric

| As of 1997, ABS is no longer classing vessels smaller than 24m (79').
