About Helicopter Landing Areas

Interesting that pretty much the entire standard is based on the assumption that the helicopter will at some point crash and explode on top of the boat.
Keep in mind also that helicopters need manoeuvering space, landing on a boat is insanely hard at the best of times when there isn't a radar mast in the way. Boats also pitch and roll around. Don't forget also the tremendous amount of air that is forced downward by the rotor, which can do an amazing amount of damage to loose objects or nearby facilities such as a resort's beach or swimming pool.

Guide for the Class Notation Helicopter Decks and Facilities (HELIDK and HELIDK(SRF)) (2008) Supplemental Guides for Optional Class Notations

ABS currently has requirements for design of helicopter decks and helicopter facilities in several Rules and Guides, including the Rules for Building and Classing Steel Vessels, the Rules for Building and Classing Steel Vessels Under 90 meters (295 feet) in Length, the Rules for Building and Classing Mobile Offshore Drilling Units, the Rules for Building and Classing Steel Barges, and the Guide for Building and Classing Liftboats. This Guide consolidates the above requirements for easy application of the Rule requirements for the optional notations HELIDK and HELIDK(SRF). For convenience, an easy-to-follow road map for classification of helicopter decks and helicopter facilities is also provided. This publication is only available for download.

Here's a landing grid we designed and manufactured:

plz can i have some explanation on that grid ?

That's what the helicopter lands on . The grid is typically about 2.5m in diameter, the honeycomb design is strong, light and affordable (everything's relative!). When the helicopter lands it is secured to the grid, keeping it secure in high sea states.
