| Interesting that pretty much the entire standard is based on the assumption that the helicopter will at some point crash and explode on top of the boat. Keep in mind also that helicopters need manoeuvering space, landing on a boat is insanely hard at the best of times when there isn't a radar mast in the way. Boats also pitch and roll around. Don't forget also the tremendous amount of air that is forced downward by the rotor, which can do an amazing amount of damage to loose objects or nearby facilities such as a resort's beach or swimming pool.

| ehh.. for the hitch hikers intergalactic handbook or honey bee's ? plz can i have some explanation on that grid ? |
|

| ||||
| ||||
| That's what the helicopter lands on . The grid is typically about 2.5m in diameter, the honeycomb design is strong, light and affordable (everything's relative!). When the helicopter lands it is secured to the grid, keeping it secure in high sea states. |
