a 5.5 m design for a friend ( and for anyone wants it ) :-)

just playn around a concept for a small boat 5.5 for a friend .
here hull and hydro.
The hull is from 8 mm plywood/epoxy , bulkheads 1cm plywood
the structure will be completed laminating some diagonal in fiberglass over urethane tube
may be someone can give his impression ?

Nice practical build. The hull in 10mm would make a good simple alternative for the novice, with a small weight penalty but more durable, suitable for stitch and glue.

I opened the Rhino file and looked at the hull, surface analyzed the boat and projected the panels to 2D.

Couple of things.

First, I think you can make this boat in 6mm if the glass schedule is correct. I would rather see it lighter than heavier, considering the type of boat that it is.

Secondly, that second hull panel moving out from the centerline is potentially going to be more than a little problematic in an 8-10mm build. A lot will depend on the size of the rig you are specifying for the boat, what sort of load and what type of keel will be fitted.

Very nice shapes and it could be a fairly simple project to construct in new-builder friendly stitch and glue methods.

Not what I mean. Probably the confusion cames from "my" English

By boat program I mean what is its intendeed use (racing, daysailing, coastal cruising and so on)
