new to the forum, really need some help trying to locate plans to build a lapstrake , 24'(approx) sailing dory. double ender. cabin with rudimentary/basic accommodations.
    shoal draft.
possibly lee boards, to help with the space below.
really dont want a slab sided , grand banks type dory. really dont need the hard chines.
kind of like the clc 17' northeaster dory would be ideal, only bigger.
    who has any ideas.
    thanks.

Look for Swampscott dory plans. John Gardner of National Fisherman, and Mystic Seaport Museum fame was something of a dory authority. You might find plans for something similar to what you describe in the Museum archives.

Why a dory for a beach cruiser? Unless you have a particular situation, there are some more practical options. Boats specificly intended for beach cruising will make good and regular use of flat bottoms and so a sharpie might be appropriate. If you could live with a semi Banks type, the Atkins had a big dory they called Abie Porpoise.
