20 nautical miles...

Hello...

OK - Gibsons is about 20 nautical miles by water from where I now live (OWN A CONDO)...

So to get to work in one hour I need to cut 20 to 25 knots in all weather and maybe thru an odd 3 foot short chop...

I need an outboard cabin cruiser to do same...

I am just fielding this to see what you guys come up with for links and ideas...

Lets say no more than 20 feet LOA - 25 knot tops - good deep vee - welded aluminum or ply - developable surfaces - absolutely dead simple to build...

Cheers...

SH.

25 kts through 3' chop

not exactly a cruiser, but to do 25 kts through a 3 ft chop n' keep your kidneys together might be the ticket...

Mighetto may just come up with some clever idea. A chopped version of his beloved mac26x perhaps...........

Imagine Sean, you can motorsail at 20 - 25 knots, best of both worlds

Funny...

Hello...

I figured someone would hit upon Diogen or Kurt Hughes bits...

It is intrigueing - but I think a bit of another side track diversion...

I will put that in my 'fiddle file' - although I only need to show up - don't have to haul tools or welding machines - hmmmm....

Today is Sunday - I no longer work shift or call outs - I guess I am allowed to 'fiddle' - yes...

Thanks...

SH.

Alaskan jet drive boats. O/B versions have no heaters-- I/B or I/O have a built in hot water heater built in for the cold stuff. plus it is more fun to work on them than the O/B in a chop.

I've met a couple of BC water commuters with boats like that. My faves are the aluminum Eagle Craft with jet drive. Logs? Phooey!

3' chop is more than a 20' wants to see with the wind from the WRONG commuting direction.

Sean, right in Gibsons there is a local company that builts aluminum boats, you can probably get on contact with them, and talk about what you are looking for.

you can contact Jeff Rhodes

I would build...

Hello...

It is Coastal Craft that wanted to hire me...

Currently working for Bracewell Boatworks...

I am just now designing a deep vee garvey type hull for same - much like the commuter in my gallery - lost files to a hard drive crash...

I will weld in good thick aluminum - yes dead heads are a problem...
