Looks great.

My son and I can lift her, so I think she weighs about 200-250lbs. She can carry 1800lbs. I'm not sure what her cruising speed is. I'll have to borrow a gps and get that info., since I get asked that allot. The 8hp seems about perfect. Even with a load it doesn't take much to push her along.

It's a BOAT! Well almost. They decided to finish the outside complete with Brass stem band before pulling her off the mold. They have the inside of the transom glassed and they are prepping the inside hull for glass.

And I bet he can find his tools and they don't have electrical tape around the handles either!

I'm wondering if that isn't a walkout basement? That's going to be a nice boat, but how is he going to get it out of there?

Their shop is 40'x80' with 10' ceilings and 10'x12' doors on each end. So I think they'll back a trailer in under it and haul it away.

Surpassed expectations? That's saying something, because I would expect a lot out of it to begin with.

Haven't touched them yet. I plan on doing them next time I'm home, buying a trolling motor, and taking the BB out again. But that'll be another week at least; I'm getting hammered with overtime shifts.

There are only four of us operators here to begin with, plus a relief operator. One is on scheduled vacation out of the country, and one is on leave with a family medical emergency. That leaves us a little tight on coverage.

I am a neophyte here and don't want to ask 'dumb' questions but they are the questions I am best at. Do you have plans for a plywood version of a freighter of the same general specs?
I have had a desire to build a stripper for a long time, but my shoulders are toast. No more canoeing says the sawsbones. It seems that plywood, while not nearly so beautiful, is cheaper and easier to build out.

here's a plywood version in it's early development. The hull design is done, but I would need to expand the panels and create the sheet layouts for CNC cutting. Please send me an email if you are interested in a quote for a kit.

That is awesome. What would construction cost and time be on something like that? I would be interested in plans. I keep scouring the www and getting more and more ideas, which means I am further and further from a plan....
ain't that the way.

Timothy,
I'd LOVE a 26' version of that plywood boat. What is (in inches) the rocker in your 18' boat?
