Use "Everseal" gasket for sealing...

I am gathering info for a "Svenson" Jon Boat plan, using nail & glue construction; I came across a site, they were describing a Rapid Robert build, which outlined a method for sealing chine/seams using channel gasket (everseal).

I was going to use "Gorilla" glue in my build, however, this technique looked quick and clean. Has anyone an opinion on this?
