| T-Top construction Could you use EMT tubing for a T-Top. After construction could either paint or powder coat it. |

| You could use anything, but you get what you pay for. EMT (Electrical Metal Tubing) is an old friend of mine as I started life as an electrician. It's not very strong, doesn't hold up to the marine environment well, lots of prep work will be required before a good looking power coat can go on, and doesn't belong on a boat. You could use balsa wood if you wanted, but I'd bet you have already discounted that material for reasons most wouldn't argue with. When the wind gets under your Home Depot "T" top and drops it into the cockpit as a bent, kinked, pile of rather inexpensive tubing, I hope you or those you enjoy being with aren't under it . . . |
