A lot of RC engine info (model boat & model airplane) can be found through http://www.modelengine.com/
Clark Craft has some airboat plans:
http://www.clarkcraft.com

You might also get some useful information from http://www.4wings.com/

A little off topic, but also take a look at http://www.cco.caltech.edu/~matveev/index.html

rc airboat

I recently built an rc airboat for the fun of it from scratch. For the hull, I got 3/4" thick styrofoam sheets and epoxied them together to form a block about 2 1/2" thick. After that, I shaped it to where it has slightly curved sides, and a slightly curved bow. I then covered it in fiberglass (about 2 layers). For the engine, I simply used a Thunder Tiger .42, and engine that had come off of one of my radio controlled airplanes. I made an aluminum mount for it, which aslo holds up the fuel tank, and the throttle and rudder servos. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer them. I can get you the diminsions of the boat if you need them. I got some of my ideas from: www.geocities.com/rcairboat78/index.html
