| Propulsion Hello everyone, I want to identify myself up front as being from FEYS and a bit of a Diesel Electric bigot. I have joined in order to lean (and perhaps share), not to promote our product. I am and have been involved in several "non-traditional" proplusion R&D projects and find some of the posts here very interesting. Cheers |

| I am very interested in the propulsions system.... Last night I wrote you guys a letter about putting it in a race boat. |

| engine option Do you have any ideas for an electric/diesel engine that may be compatible with a JetPac? We are always open to new and innovative ideas. www.jetpac.us |

| Diesel Jet There have been several "whiteboard" sessions between our company and various waterjet makers. The torque curve of an electric motor is different than that of a diesel and everyone has been interested to see if an electric motor would help with some of the inefficent spots on a jet's thrust map (low speeds). Really, we don't think so, but I understand that some are being built on a small scale just to prove it one way or the other. I'll let the jet folks do the braggin. |

The key element of the distribution of the "element" leaving the powered section to be shaped in the concept of a square not round distribution 'tunnel' thereby distributing the force to a wider area for maximum reaction trust impact. i.e. after entering a round venturi, exit the thrust element to square or rectangular tubes to spread exit to larger area of water for maximum thrust. (even the concept of the propeller or thrusting element being like the armature of an electric motor is viable. Study the catamaran. Good thinking, sideditch |

For my fellow members interested in a deeper insight into marine propulsion efficiency IŽll provide some links. Start here: http://www.proboat-digital.com/proboat/20070607/ goto "content" then page 82 "Hybrid Marine Power" read the article in the following issues too Regards Richard |
