Planning a Business: Wooden Boat Design and manufacturers

Dear Friends,

I am new to boat design and building and would appreciate all the guidance.

My friend and I are planning a private boat service and are looking for designers and eventually boat builders. We have in mind the capacity (i.e. how many people the boat will take) and particular design of the boat (modeled after Sampans in Asia).

For about 2-6 people, the boat will also provide dining and cocktail options. In addition, since our operations will be in the tropics, the boat must have provision for wet weather.

Will appreciate all the advice to take venture to the next stage, i.e. rough cost and timeline to build such a boat commercially. Will also appreciate contacts of reputable and quality designers and builders in Asia.
