Off the mold!

    The long awaited day has come! Off the mold. Now comes the job of removing the epoxy drips.

    Way to get your son involved. In the first picture, looks like he's about to make a mess in his pants. lol

    Even in it's unfinished state, a lapstrake boat is sure a thing of beauty.

    Thanks folks. The model is the "Ellen" designed by John Brooks and featured in WOODEN BOAT magazine #158 Jan 2001. Finished weight is aprox 120 lbs according to the specs. I could not believe how light the hull was when we lifted it off the mold!
