Thank's Hoyt, it's an ongoing challenge for sure. I think i should be right on the fiberglass hand sanding schedule to coincide with your visit, Ha Ha.

Thanks Yo my Friend, it's been slow but I was timing the ready for glass stage late spring so I could open the big end doors in the shop. This allows a good sea breeze to blow thru acting as natures fan ridding the toxic fumes. I still wear a resperator but without that breeze, the resin fumes burn my sensitive baby face skin :D
Whats happening with your project? I was looking forward to the results of the experiments with the electric drive.

Hoyte- Good to see you are a fan of my spinoff project. :) Production is sort of at a stand still right now. The Prop Boys are having a bit of a time with authentic looking Trans Atlantic Vessels, seems the actors want positive floatation, comfortable cabins and engines. :D

John you old sea dog, never felt the land swagger with your sea leg presence. Hens are on ice sanding blocks on fire, keep your foredeck vents turned aft --Geo.

Finally lifes chores gave me a little break to get back at the the build. I'm working in the forward section of the male mold, blending in the bow/stem to the fin leading root area. My idea here is to also round off the leading edge of this section of the stem/forefoot.
First I use three strips if 1/4 in. ply as a base to build up to level of the fin's lower 3/4 in. plywood foil form. Regular auto body filler was next applied over this and to build the rounded edge going forward to meet the lower stem. I have purposly applied it a little rough to show how a common old block plane can be used to quickly knock off the lumps and do the inital shaping Then it's just a matter of a little hand sanding to get it 95% completed. I will fill in the small imperfections re sand with finer paper and it's all ready for wax and glassing. Next post pre glassing waxing plus a few more tricks to boot.

It's a battle --a battle with rebuilding a 25yr. old house, which is the approximate life
of the exterior, roof, siding, windows and doors in our salty windy coastal
climate along with it's vast temperature changes.
--a battle with interior refinishing/replacing of wear and tear 15yrs. B&B
--a battle with the devastation of age on energy and ambition which of
course is a one way street. My answer keep looking at beautiful women
build a boat, they love the romance of sailing with "old" Sea Dogs. :p
