it is absolutely fantastic
there is a wealth of data and information
simply unbelievable

this is where i really envy you guys that live in first world countries, the technology that you have available on your doorstep, is the stuff that we can only dream and drool over

jeez its a miracle that we can still get epoxy in this place

They will deliver by seacontainer - apparently 4 kits will fit in one box, BUT you do not get access to the joiner (see post of 5-11-2003 from http://scrumbleproject.wordpress.com/table-of-contents/ - and while you are there see the rest of the "scrumble project" - as they have done a fabulous job of documenting their build....

A high standard in both build quality and web information has been set....

Glad you liked/enjoyed it - they are also Bob Oram design builders.... Only hope I can produce something half near as good as their effort....

Nice to read inbetween some other threads that your order for panels have been placed and that your start date seems all organized now.

I wrote to Scrumble and they are very friendly and helpfull.
One item that was rather interesting is that the panels ordered by Bob was 800 gm bi-axial glass both sides - that was for 13 / 16 / 25 mm thick end grain balsa core.

As a matter of interest - now 5 years later - are your panels also 800 gm both sides or has it changed now with more modern technology ? Lighter perhaps ?

One thing that i picket up on was the thread "dipped in chocolat"
After some more reading i found some folks on the Easy forums have also used a mix of copper powder and epoxy as an anti foul barrier with some good results - so it may be of interest to you. Of course always interesting to see if Bob comes up with something better

anyway i am as exited as you are - cant wait for the pics when the "boat in a box" gets delivered

Had a good day today
i found someone that can get me copper powder - miracles actually do happen.

Thanks Scrumble (and this thread) for the info

now the MiniCat5 hulls and keels will also be coated in "chocolat" and then a couple of coats of anti-foul paint

finally got the hulls and keels done - ready for glassing

the more i look at my little boat - the more i realise that there are more similarities with Oram than anything else, i dont want to start a war between designers but Bob Oram has got the easier and faster build by FAR
