engine overall dimensions

does anyone know of the dimensions for a 40-55 horse johnson - evinrude 2 cyl. outboard. i currently have a 1960 40 horse and want to upgrade but it looks like the newer motor ( late 70's to current omc design) is longer front to back in the powerhead.
i looked on bombardier s website but no luck, i was hoping someone has a old brochure, manual, or an actual motor they could grab the measurements from.
thanks. ill attach a pic of the boat its going on
thanks

The new motors fit fine. All outboards, at least for the past fifty years or so, are designed to fit a standard motor well. The mounting holes may be different though. Specially if you are changing makes.
