c-flex

has anyone had any experience with this material ? Is it the same as carbon fibre?Im not looking for directions ,just some in general thoughts and exreriences. would it be a preferred construction method over plywood and then glassing?from what Ive gathered on the research so far it will make the boat lighter.

haven't used it but i have a boat with c-flex over plywood frames and it seems to have worked well. the stuff is pretty tough too, but expensive. it seems like a fast, strong way to go for the intial layer over frames for a round bilge hull. because of the rods that stiffen the c-flex, little fairing is needed if the frames are close enough together. you do need to add a layer or more of cloth on top of the c-flex.
