Boat Building...

Hi
I am looking for info on how to get into boat building, what the job market is like etc. Do I need to go to a special school? Where do you look to find jobs yada yada yada...
Any help would be great...
thanks
Matt

The first step is to buy a large bag of marbles!

Go to the lake and throw them as far as you can
one at a time into the lake!

OK! You have lost your marbles, and you are a boat builder!

Joking aside, there are lots of people here to help you,
what kind of boat is the first step, how big? , purpose?
What kind of experience do you have in the needed
skill?

It is best to start small, cheap and quick, to find out
if the marbles were a waste of money!

Haha, I had marbles once.... I wonder what happened to them
Anyway, I have no experience, and was thinking of it as a career, is that how its done? Start on your own and go from there? Or is there some kind of formal training? I could see myself helping to/building sailboats, or the ones people do deep sea charter fishing on, etc. I recently moved from northern arizona to just outside of portland so this type of opportunity is now available... i think
anyway, at this point i need to get just a regular b.s. job to avoid being flat busted broke. What do you think?

There should be some boat shops in that area, just check
the yeller pages and go visiting!

BTW; my daughter and family live in Vancouver, but they
are not boaters! My Grandsons, 11, twins, want to buy a
boat and fish the Alaskan waters when they grow up! My
Grand daughter, 8, wants to be a pilot! Or a model!
